Programming evolution of geometry in shape-morphing sheets via spatio-temporal activation

Our paper Programming evolution of geometry in shape-morphing sheets via spatio-temporal activation has just been published in Proceedings of the Royal Society A. It was selected to be the cover feature, which is nice! It’s about making a single shape-morphing sheet deform into essentially any shape you like, by patterning the magnitude of local contraction/stretch. Experimentally you could do this with patterned illumination from a projector, which could get incredibly cool … You can watch me talk about this paper by going to the talks tab of this website, or by going here: https://youtu.be/OaY2UTJ-CMo?si=6Hhy_wLlIxGo551R
